An Analysis of the Relationship Between the Knowledge, Attitude Toward the Aged & Health State of the Aged.

Abstract
|
|
|
This study was done for the purpose of analysing of the relationship between the knowledge, attitude toward the aged & health state of the aged.
Data were gather by structured intervew method from June to July, 1986.
The 184 persons of the old when has lived now in J city were selected convenently.
The instruments used for this study were the Kyung´ San Facts on Aging Quiz to measure level of knowledge of aging and semantic differential scale to find the direction of attitude toward aged and health problem scale for the old developed by the researcher. Analysis of data was done analysis of variance T-test and Pearson correlation.
The results of this study were as follows.
1. There was no relationship between general characteristics & knowledge, attitude, physical health sc. e. The relationship between age & knowledge score was statistically significant. (F= 3,560 P< 0.01)
2. Regarding the relationship between the general characteristics of the respondents and the mental health score, Sex (T= -3.03, P<0.01) Spouse (T= -2.73, P<0.01) Hobby (F= 3.695, P<0.01) Educat´on (F= 2.819 P <0.05) were statistically significant
3. Regarding the Pearson correlation coefficients of knowledge score attitude score, physical health scale, mental health score, the relationship between the knowledge and physical health score was statistcally significant.
